PLEXR Eyelid treatment explained
Through a small handheld device, multiple shots of tiny plasma beams are used to turn skin fibres instantly into vapour, stimulating the skin around this to contract smoothing out lines and sagging skin. Although some results may be seen immediately after the treatment, it will take several weeks for the full effect to be experienced as the skin tightens to the desired level.

The Consultation. The results most patients experience are nothing short of spectacular for a non-surgical treatment, but it should be remembered that this treatment is not for everyone and if the skin you are looking to remove from your eyelids is too excessive, surgery may be your only option. Our consultation is our opportunity to assess the suitability of this treatment for you and your opportunity to understand what’s involved.

The Treatment. Your eyelid skin will be cleansed, then 20–30 minutes before the treatment an anaesthetic cream is applied. The treatment itself take around 30 minutes and involves tiny plasma beam shots to numerous areas of the eyelid. After the treatment a medical grade foundation will be applied to conceal any short-lived discolouration and medication can be prescribed for pain relief where required.

Downtime and Downside? Patients are advised to take it easy for a few days after this treatment, to shield their eyes from direct sunlight and to stay out of the sun for around 30 days. Patients are also advised to book two further consultant appointments so we can monitor healing and results. Tiny brown spots will appear at the site of each of the plasma shots and there may be some localised swelling, but these should disappear within a couple of days.

How Long Does It Last? PLEXR is a permanent treatment; however, your skin will naturally continue to age so a repeat treatment after three to five years may be needed to maintain the youthful look this treatment can achieve in most patients.
